Spelling-Vocabulary Lists for the 2014-2015 School Year
This year's spelling and vocabulary study will focus on words taken from the works we read as well as on general literary and grammar terms. Students' weekly assignment is to define each word, write down part(s) of speech, and then, using that knowledge, to create a sentence which provides a clear a context clue as to each word's meaning. Each assignment is thoroughly reviewed before the quiz, which is generally on Friday. Each term on the quiz is worth ten points- two for correctly spelling the word, and eight for providing a sentence with an effective context-clue sentence.
